The John Miller Story John Miller ex drag racer and all round nice guy came to Anglesey with the Preston & District Club in September with his classic racer a Kreidler 50 ready to show his metal in his first ever motorcycle road race. After an 8 hour drive from Yeovil (UK) on Thursday John was greeted on the Friday track day with very heavy rain, "what a start to racing". Undeterred out he went and three laps into his first track day BANG! went his gear box. " Not a good start for a weekend of what should of been an exhilarating time". It looked like an 8 hour trip back home and no signatures for this chap. However help was at hand and the angels shone down, Ben somehow heard of John's plight and remembered his first fateful weekend, with that Ben offered John the chance to ride his newly rebuilt and not even run in TZR (that's right his TZR! ) on the provision that if Ben's Aprilia failed he rode his TZR. Well after some serious discussions with the race Officials and juggling round N0 273 was changed to N0 62 and John was on the track on Saturday morning doing his thing although out in a different class than originally planned "who cares" he was having fun. After a good day racing it was off to the club house to swap stories and have a few sherbets. Ah! Donna the race sectary had been spied a bit tipsy so time to take advantage of the situation. After some honest greasing we managed to get John in another class for Sunday increasing his fun time by 2. |
